Our Mission
We believe every student deserves access to quality science education and to learn from the natural world.
By providing hands-on science and sustainability education, and fostering curiosity through nature experiences, we aim to bridge the gap in underserved STEM learning and improve future educational success for K-5 students in the Bay Area and beyond.
The Need
Closing the Education Gap
Many schools in underserved communities lack the resources to provide grade-appropriate science and sustainability curricula and complementary outdoor experiences. This leaves a significant gap in students’ education; limiting their understanding of key science concepts and development of critical problem-solving skills needed for upper grades and their future success.
Our Response
Environmental Volunteers is dedicated to filling this gap by offering:
Science and Nature-Based STEM Programs
We provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences that make science, nature and sustainability accessible and exciting.
Field Trips
We offer children the chance to explore the wonders of the natural world firsthand as complements to in-class instruction to make abstract concepts come alive.
Teacher Support
We equip educators with the necessary resources to integrate engaging Next Generation Science Standard lessons into their classrooms.
