Homeschool Programs by Appointment
Environmental Volunteers offers customizable experiences for Homeschool families, groups or co-ops for children ages 6-11. Families or group coordinators can choose from the following options:
Hands-on Science at our EcoCenter
90-minute classroom-style programs with activity stations focused on a particular topic. Topics can be drawn from any of our standard School Programs activities for grades K-5, or any of our Community Programs activities.

We’ll come to you for our 90-minute classroom-style programs with activity stations focused on a particular topic. Topics can be drawn from any of our standard School Programs for grades K-6, or any of our Community Programs.
Registration
- Registration deadline: A minimum of 4-weeks in advance; earlier is greatly appreciated.
- Cancellation/Refund deadline: 3 weeks prior to scheduled program
- Change deadline: 2 weeks prior to scheduled program, as availability allows.
- Program Fees: Scholarships available for groups that need it. Please ask!

- Nature Walks: $20/child, with a 10% discount available for groups of more than 20 participants. There is no additional fee for the required adult chaperones (but see below).
- Hands-on Science Programs: $300/program.

- Min number of child participants: 6
- Max number of child participants: 24*
- There is also a maximum of 3 adults for every 8 children on a nature walk. Additional adults would be charged at the per-child rate and would count towards the maximum numbers.

- Ages: Our programs and walks are intended for ages 6-11. Younger siblings are discouraged but may be permitted in certain circumstances. Please ask.
- Adult Chaperones are required for Nature Walks.
- Months Available: Generally Sept-June. Summer dates may be available in a limited basis.
- Payment is due once program is confirmed, and at least 2 weeks before program date.
Important Participant Notes
- Children will be divided into small groups of 6-8 for each program, based on age. Each group will be led by an experienced EV docent.
- Payment will be collected by the lead coordinator for a particular date; the EV can not accept separate payments from each participating child/family.
- Parents are encouraged to attend the field trip programs with their children (a minimum of 1 adult per 6 children is required as chaperones); if that’s not possible, please let EV staff know when you register.
- Families/groups are responsible for their own transportation to/from each site.
