"LET'S GO!" FIELD TRIP FUND
The “Let’s Go!” Field Trip Fund provides grant subsidies to support bus transportation for youth in under-resourced communities.
The “Let’s Go!” Field Trip Fund offers transportation subsidies to high need, low-income schools and youth-serving organizations that support students in those schools. Schools and Organizations within the 9 Bay Area Counties are eligible to apply (but see additional eligibility information below)*
The “Let’s Go!” Field Fund, formally known as the Transportation Fund (TF), launched in 2011 through a generous grant from the Environmental Education Funders Consortium.
Since its inception, the fund has provided field trips to over 50,000 low-income students in the San Francisco Bay Area! The “Let’s Go!” Field Trip Fund continues through local donations from active community funders. In 2016, the Transportation Fund was selected as a recipient of the Game Changer Grant by the 50 Fund, a philanthropic initiative of Super Bowl 50.
Current funding for San Mateo County schools is supported by the Sand Hill Foundation.
The “Let’s Go!’ Field Trip Fund grant program is currently open for the current school year (2025/2026) only.
Please review the “Let’s Go!” Field Trip Funds FAQ’s page for important information about who is eligible for support. Then use one of the following links to submit your application:

- If your field trip will take place between August 2026-February 2027, please use the Fall/Winter Application (NOW OPEN)*.
- If your field trip will take place between March-June 2027 (school year only), please use the Spring Application (CLOSED – will open in November)*
- Grants for summer field trips or for the next school year are not currently available.
Each class or group of students is eligible for one grant award per school year; please apply for only ONE timeframe unless you’ve spoken with us directly.
*Funding currently available: Outdoor Field Trips for San Mateo County Schools (all grades). Supported by the Sand Hill Foundation.
