Field Trips

Field Trips For Schools

There are several field trip options available for all grades. Some require bus transportation, but at least one option is ‘walkable’ from your school.

Investigation Program

The Schoolyard Snoop is a 90-minute on-site program that takes place at the school. It is available for Kindergarten classes as part of the “Investigation” program. Both components are required for participation.

Please review the “Investigation” program information for more details about this program. Or see the general information (including fees) for Kindergarten Programs.

Nature in your Neighborhood

This 90-minute “walkable” field trip consists of an exploration of a local park or green space that is walking distance from the school (no bus required!).

Students will be divided into small groups to walk and explore their neighborhood. Each group will be guided by an experienced field trip leader, introduced to fun nature based activities and will discover opportunities to exercise their wonder and curiosity.

There is a Nature in Your Neighborhood option available for all grades.

Ecology & Adaptations Field Trips

These 2-hour off-site Field Trips take place at one of 5 local Bay Area Open Space Preserves. Available for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades.

Trained EV docents guide students in small groups to explore plant communities, look for evidence of animals passing by, and discover the diversity of life that calls these areas home. These field trips are designed to support the grade-based classroom programs, but can also be booked as a stand-alone experience.

Please review the information for your grade for more details
