5th Grade Human Impacts Program

The 5th Grade Human Impacts Program consists of a 90-minute classroom program. During this classroom program, students will take an in-depth look at how we impact our environment through our waste – how it’s generated, what problems it creates, and most importantly what we can do to make a positive change for the future. This program supports Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Activities Available:

  • Landfills
  • Loathsome Litter
  • What Is Waste?
  • Where Does Waste Go?

Total time for each classroom: 90-minutes

Availability: September-December

A limited number of program slots are still available for the “Human Impacts” virtual lesson series. This series consists of four, 30-minute lessons based on the topics above. Please contact us (schoolprograms@environmentalvolunteers.org or 650-493-8000 ext 8) if interested in the virtual lesson options.
