Environmental Volunteers Appoints Anu Ramamurty as Executive Director
Palo Alto, CA, January 7, 2025 – Environmental Volunteers (EV), a leading Bay Area non-profit that connects youth with nature through hands-on environmental science education, has welcomed Anu Ramamurty as its new Executive Director.
Anu brings a unique combination of global leadership in environmental advocacy and strategic communications and local education experience in Bay Area schools and communities. She worked at UNICEF, collaborated with Conservation International, and the UN Global Compact, and was one of an army of advocates who played a role in achieving the historic Paris Climate Agreement as part of the We Mean Business coalition.
Passionate about engaging the next generation of environmental leaders, Anu founded Kat Kid Adventure in 2019, a kids’ eco-educational brand. Through a range of fun and innovative educational curricula and products, Anu has brought climate change education to more than 20,000 youth across the Bay Area and beyond. She has been an active advocate for sustainability in local schools and serves on the Palo Alto Climate Protection Working Group.

Anu’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Environmental Volunteers as the organization continues to grow nationally, delivering innovative environmental education programs to youth through a growing network of passionate community and college volunteers.
