Wake Up to Nature

Saturday May 7, 2022

Join us for Environmental Volunteers’ 10th annual Wake Up to Nature fundraising event on Sat, May 7th 2022 @ Cogswell Plaza in Downtown Palo Alto.

Our breakfast and program will run from 8:30-9:30am. Afterwards, we welcome everyone to join EV as we walk in the May Fete Parade beginning at 10am.

Join us for heart-warming and joyful stories and testimonials from the students and teachers who benefit from our programs. Help EV to inspire local kids and families to love science and nature by sharing a delicious brunch, catered by Ada’s cafe, with your friends in the open air at Cogswell Plaza.
The EV, true to our founding principles, remains volunteer-focused—with over 100 active teaching docents from coast-to-coast who collectively donate more than 8,000 service hours to the community each year. We collaborate with 118 schools across the country to provide in-school and out-of-school science education. We also facilitate a regional collaboration of 17 community organizations that support and provide reinforcing science education for local schools. Each year, our programs serve 27,000 people of all ages throughout the United States.

Environmental Volunteers (the EV) is an environmental education non-profit founded in 1972.

Our mission: To promote the understanding of and responsibility for the environment through hands-on science education.

We train volunteers to deliver hands-on science and nature learning through our classroom programs, summer camps, community events, college led Sprout Up programs hosted in seven universities, and at our EcoCenter in the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve.

It is our vision to give everyone an opportunity to give back to nature and the next generation.
