About the artist:
People ask how long I’ve been painting. I’ve been painting since my twenties, but after retiring in 2016, began taking classes at Palo Alto Art Center, and Palo Alto Art League. I participate in Silicon Valley Open Studios each year.
I am a native Californian! I endeavor to capture scenes so viewers will appreciate our amazing nature; our golden hills and woodlands, rugged coastline and redwood forests, scenic bay and marshlands. I love to paint the Palo Alto marshlands because of the changing colors through the day and seasons. My goal is to inspire others to visit and protect our unique California animal life and fragile wilderness. My greeting card profits are donated to environmental protection groups; this time to Environmental Volunteers.
I meditate, hike, observe, photograph and sketch scenes to create paintings. Each discovery sparks a new idea. I’m awestruck by the patterns in the tides, the light and shadows of the trees, the soft form of the rolling hills, a color burst of wildflowers, or the contrast of textures in the meadows. I often paint outdoors in mild weather, then complete the painting in my studio. Let me paint your favorite landscape scene as well!
You can view my paintings at Aegis Gallery, 14531 Big Basin Way in Saratoga.
